I never thought adventuring and exploring with a 19 month old would be so much fun! To be perfectly honest, I was one of those people a few years ago who thought, "What do full time moms do all day?" Not only do we feed little humans (who eat nonstop), change their diapers, pick up their messes five thousand times a day, clean dozens of things every hour, because let's be honest - sometimes they are just straight crazy! My son is currently obsessed with throwing EVERYTHING. Splashing yogurt pouches EVERYWHERE. Stomping on goldfish. Shaking his milk cup so it flings all over the place. Throwing EVERYTHING away. Sometimes caring for little humans is just go-go-go ... which you get, get, get, I'm sure!
But, today was one of those days that reminded me how thankful I am to spend so much time with my son and be his primary caregiver. It was a little glimpse of heaven. A true dream come true. I may or may not have that "crying mom syndrome" right now where random things just make me tear up. Usually it's Hallmark movies, but today, it's the memories we made. My son and I spent some time tackling laundry and chores and then we spent the rest of the day outdoors. It was absolutely magnificent! The weather was breath-taking. And I am just so very thankful for the blessings the day held.
I just wanted to encourage you. Maybe you are having one of "those" weeks. My son has been extremely grumpy and fussy all week - but today, was lots of smiles, hugs, and giggles. These are the moments we have to let stay etched into our minds and hearts.
Continue finding your adventure and embracing the wonderful, giggly days instead of the fussy ones.
Keep that messy bun high, moms! You got this!
Sometimes moms run on messy buns, sweatpants, and lots of coffee ... and that's ok!
I'm a twenty-something mom of a busy toddler who often finds normalcy in messy buns & sweatpants kinda days. I am here to write about laundry-folding epiphanies, mommy-mishaps, mommy-must haves and those no-good-at-Pinterest honest moments.
