Fitness is a mentality, a mindset, and a process!
Welcome to my new series, “Monday Motivation!” I am slowly learning that fitness does not change or happen overnight. It’s a mentality - a mindset - a process! Fitness has become my kind of therapy - it rejuvenates and helps me refocus and see that progress takes time (and maybe some blood, sweat, and tears also). I am on a new journey to improve my lifestyle from the inside-out and want to invite you on this journey with me. We can encourage one another. Help each other. Motivate and build up one another.
Today, I want to share 3 of my current motivators:
1. Inspirational workout tanks. Some people love them and some people hate them. I’m the person that loves them and needs constant visual reminders to help motivate and encourage me. I do not spend oodles of money on workout gear, so know that these tanks were on sale for under $10 when I purchased them in various places (always check the sale racks!!). Inspirational tanks rock - and they do just that for me. Here are two of my current go-to’s:
2. My FitBit. I’ve had a Fitbit for a little over a year now and love it. Not only can I track my fitness and steps throughout the day, I can check my heart rate and sleep patterns/how much sleep I am getting. I love participating in the “Workweek Hustle” with some close friends/family because it helps me stay motivated to keep moving.
3. Last, but not least: a workout buddy to hold me accountable/encourage me to try new workouts. Russ (my husband) always motivates me to set new goals and dream bigger dreams than I thought possible for myself. You need this too! Russ encouraged me every step of the way during my marathon training and cheered me on at the marathon. He always knows what to say when I am feeling weak and defeated. We went to the gym together last week (helloooooo, day date!) and he encouraged me to try new workouts I would never have done by myself at the gym. This is one plus of having a gym/workout buddy, for sure! Encouragement. Motivation. Accountability.
These are 3 of my motivators for this week! Short, sweet, and to the point! I would love to hear what motivates you. Let’s continue on this journey together of being our best selves - mentally, spiritually, and physically.
