While preparing for our second child’s arrival (due in less than 3 weeks!!), I couldn’t help but oooooooh and aaaaaaahh over her brand new socks. Over another little life that God has so richly blessed us with. With that, also carries much responsibility. We want to nurture our daughter in Jesus' name and prepare her for the years and challenges ahead. We are praying now for both of our children’s salvation and that God would use their personalities to be difference makers and world shakers, so I decided to pray a “sock prayer” over my children and invite you to join me:
Father, take these precious feet, hand-crafted by You, and steer them in the right direction.
Help them to follow Your plan for their lives and realize their true value and worth comes from You and You alone,
Help them to talk toward truth and resist the things the world tries to convince them of and throw at them.
Help them to walk toward others and have a heart desperate to reach those who are hurting and lost.
Help them to walk away from the things of this world and away from the things that put them on a path of destruction.
Father, help them to walk by faith, even when they cannot see.
Help them to know that they can have gargantuan, God-sized dreams and stand out in the crowd.
Father, help these little feet to make huge strides for you.
Let them change us, challenge us, and shape us every single day,
For they are blessings from above.
Please, oh, please, help us not to take them for granted.
Please guide, direct, and protect these precious little feet.
Welcome to a place where we can be raw and authentic with one another. Sometimes you just need a Mommy Moment - a place to be encouraged, a place of quiet where you can drink your cold cup of coffee and pray it's stronger than your toddler, a place where you can shove that brownie in your mouth before the little humans see it, a place where you can admit how difficult but how remarkably rewarding it is to raise tiny humans. ♥️✨
