I used to be the person who said, “I won’t let my kid watch an iPad at meals (so I can eat in peace). I won’t let my kid use a pacifier when he sleeps at 2 years old. I won’t let my kid be a picky eater. My kid won’t be a food slinger.” Wrong. 😭
When you become a parent, you quickly realize that you fight hundreds of battles a day. You have to choose wisely. Let some things go. Be at peace with slow progress in some areas.
Parents are fighting many battles you can’t see when you see their kids meltdown in public. Let’s support, encourage, & love them. And if you are a parent, currently working through many battles - YOU CAN DO THIS. One day, ONE battle at a time. Celebrate EVERY victory! (Insert virtual fist bump here). 🎉🙌🏻
It’s so easy to compare. To see everyone’s highlight reel and become jealous, compare, or ask God why you can’t have that life. A life that seems easy and struggle-free.
The truth is - we all struggle. We all have days, weeks, months and seasons that are overloaded with obstacles, sickness, sadness, fear, anxiety, financial struggles, strong-willed children, extreme tiredness, and seasons of feeling broken and ashamed of past mistakes or missed opportunities. Failed relationships. Mean people.
We can rest easy - God is faithful. He can use our turmoil and brokenness for good. BUT, we have to let Him.
Welcome to a place where we can be raw and authentic with one another. Sometimes you just need a Mommy Moment - a place to be encouraged, a place of quiet where you can drink your cold cup of coffee and pray it's stronger than your toddler, a place where you can shove that brownie in your mouth before the little humans see it, a place where you can admit how difficult but how remarkably rewarding it is to raise tiny humans. ♥️✨
